Remissiva

Lesson 1 · Course note 1

What remission means in research writing

Remission is a word research papers use carefully. It usually means disease activity has fallen below a defined line, not that a condition has permanently disappeared.

Part 1A defined line

In many fields, remission means scores or tests have crossed a threshold set in advance. The threshold is part of the study design.

Part 2Complete versus partial

Complete remission usually means no detectable activity by the study’s tests. Partial means improvement that does not reach that line.

Part 3Not a guarantee

Remission can end. Research also tracks how long it lasts.

Part 4Educational only

Remissiva explains vocabulary. It does not diagnose or predict anyone’s course.

Remissiva is an information website, not a medical provider, research sponsor, study site, or recruiter. Nothing on this site is a referral to a study, a medical opinion, or an invitation to join research, and your details are never handed to sponsors, research sites, or lead buyers. The content is general information only.
