Remissiva

Lesson 2 · Course note 2

Relapse and progression: two different research ideas

Relapse and progression both describe disease activity returning or advancing, but researchers use them in different settings.

Part 1Relapse language

In conditions that wax and wane, relapse usually means signs returned after remission or quiet disease.

Part 2Progression language

In other fields, progression means measured growth or worsening on a defined scale.

Part 3Why the distinction matters

Endpoints, visit schedules and rescue options can differ depending on which idea a study tracks.

Part 4Read the definition

Public listings and papers usually define the term in a methods or glossary section.

Remissiva is an information website, not a medical provider, research sponsor, study site, or recruiter. Nothing on this site is a referral to a study, a medical opinion, or an invitation to join research, and your details are never handed to sponsors, research sites, or lead buyers. The content is general information only.
